Every year during the Super Bowl, big companies dish out the big bucks for the phenomenal known as The Super Bowl Ad. These Super Bowl commercials are the highlight of the big game for many.

This year for Super Bowl XLVI, many of the ads that will air during the game have been leaked online ahead of time. Will this strategy work in the long-run for companies?

FX has renewed its highest rated drama for TWO more seasons. This means we’ll be at least seeing Seasons 5 and 6.

Also series creator Kurt Sutter has signed a new  3-year deal to stay on the series. This would mean that if FX does want a 7^th season (which let’s face it, will happen), Sutter would still be on board.

It is believed that Sutter has mapped out the series for it to end after the 7^th season.

Sons of Anarchy comes off its 4th season with its highest ratings to date.

After weeks of struggling in the ratings, NBC had no choice but to make a move.

NBC’s The Firm, which is co-produced by Canada’s Shaw (Global TV), has been moved to Saturday nights effective February 11th.

For the month of February, repeats of Grimm will air in the 10 pm ET Thursday night slow.

Starting on March 1st, the much-buzzed about drama AWAKE makes its premiere on NBC. The drama follows a man who lives between two ‘realities’, one where his wife is alive and the other where his son is alive.

No word yet on if The Firm will be moving for Canadian viewings watching on Global TV.

2012-2013 Renewal/Cancellation Chart

FOX serves up more Gordon Ramsay.

The network has picked up a fifth season of Kitchen Nightmares. The reality-series sees Chef Ramsay travelling the U.S. to help struggling restaurants.

‘Nightmares’ currently airs on Friday nights as lead-in to Fringe.

Ramsay’s other series Hell’s Kitchen is set to return very soon, along with MasterChef this summer.

Canadians have been waiting 15 years for this announcement. Well the wait is over.

Turner Broadcast System has reached a deal with Canadian network Teletoon to launch its version of The Cartoon Network. This comes on the eve of Teletoon’s 15^th anniversary and The Cartoon Network’s 20^th anniversary.

But what could be the even bigger news here is that with The Cartoon Network comes “Adult Swim”, the popular late-night line-up between 9 pm ET and 6 am ET. Adult Swim series include Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and more.

2012-2013 Renewal/Cancellation Chart

Showtime has locked-up three of their series, including one of their veterans.

Californication has been renewed for a 6th season by Showtime. Also renewed, new series House of Lies and Shameless.

Shameless recently returned for its second season of Showtime, while House of Lies made its debut earlier last month. All three series have been performing well against Cable competition on Sunday nights.

2012-2013 Renewal/Cancellation Chart

In 8 seasons of House, fans can think of iconic episodes. I’m talking about episodes that make House the great show it is (or was). An iconic episode of House highlights the brilliance of Hugh Laurie, an intriguing medical-case, and a believable twist that changes everything.

When I think of iconic episodes, I think of Season 4 “House’s Head” and “Wilson’s Heart”. I think of “Broken Part 1 and 2” in Season 6. Or my personal favorite, “Three Stories” from Season 1, which explained part of the origins of why Dr. House is Dr. House.

For the past few seasons, House has lacked some of those iconic episodes. It has suffered from bad storylines (House and Cuddy), storylines no one cares about (TAUB!), and medical-cases set on the back-burner for other nonsense. The series just hasn’t felt like the series we fell in love with.

Now in its 8^th (and possibly final) season, House has somewhat corrected some of its issues. This season has put the medical-cases back in focus, and there’s no more House/Cuddy drama. Sure we still have to deal with boring Taub and Foreman subplots, but the show has gotten better this season.

“Nobody’s Fault”, airing next Monday, is this season’s best episode so far. The episode directed by Greg Yaitanes (his 30^th episode), who was the man behind the lens during some of those iconic episodes I mentioned.

The main plot of the episode is House and his team is put under the microscope after an incident that happens during a case. Jeffrey Wright guest-stars as Dr. Walter Cofield: the man who interrogates House and the team about the incident. The most intriguing part of the episode is that Cofield puts Dr. House’s methods on trial. Meaning everything we’ve seen in 8 seasons, everything we chalked down as “House being House”, is being called-out. As a viewer, when we see it all laid out like that, it hits you.  Hugh Laurie is at his best during the interrogation scenes with Jeffrey Wright.

The best part of the episode is that it delivers moments that will literally make you gasp (or whatever sound you make when you’re shocked). The incident on trial isn’t what it seems, and the reveal will shock you. The incident will have an effect on Dr. House personally forever.

Brilliant acting, interesting medical-case, high-drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and a few shockers that could change the series forever, “Nobody’s Fault” joins the select few iconic episodes of House.
