About me:

About a decade ago while attending my first college preview day, a professor asked how I’d go about choosing my major. I smartly replied, “You see that TV behind you? I have an insane curiosity as to how it all works.”

Welcome to the Future — With a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Media, a minor in Journalism & Public Relations, and more than six years experience in “the real world,” I’ve still got more questions than answers.  I’ve spent time pulling cables, running cameras, editing video, writing, reading, editing and publishing — and yet my overall enthusiasm for digital media and television production has only grown. Along the way I’ve stopped to ponder such fundamental things as pilot season, how TV ratings work and even the mechanics of filming and promoting an entire television show.

Truth be told, where I live might have a lot to do with it. You see, 60-some years ago a Pennsylvania appliance salesman who wanted to sell more television sets accidentally invented cable TV. He founded Service Electric, which has been our cable provider since my family purchased its first TV. I’ll make no exaggeration to the fact that we’ve now got more TVs in the house than we do people (a 5:3 ratio), and a DVR built into the computer (thanks, HP).

Oddly enough, this whole TV blogger thing sort of happened by accident. I jumped on board with a Tribune-owned newspaper in early 2008 and became part of their Interactive Department, working on everything from sports to breaking news and features. Then my first contribution to all things small screen — via their TV

Watchers blog — sort of snowballed. Now, as they look to localize content and find their niche, I’ve decided to branch out.

I’m happy to be on board at TVDoneWright, contributing recaps/reviews/news and anything else I may have up my sleeve. Stay tuned!
