The last season finale of Dexter had everyone talking. The shocking death of Rita has made the fifth season of the Showtime hit that much more anticipated.
Last night at PaleyFest ‘10, the Dexter crew was on hand, and they released some details on what we can expect for Season 5.
- It was widely speculated that Season 5 would begin months or years after the events of the Finale. That is not the case. The show will come back next season where it left off.
- Season 5 will not feature a Trinity-esque villain. Instead the season will be focused on Rita’s murder investigation, and of course how Dexter himself is dealing with the grief, life as a single-father, and that little hobby of his.
- We will go deeper into Dexter’s psychology next season. Obviously with the trauma of his wife’s death, we could see a much darker side of Dexter.
- In some good news, Michael C Hall’s cancer treatment is going very well. He is scheduled for his last round of treatments shortly.
Dexter Season five begins its production in April and May.
WOOO! Rita’s death completely caught me off guard. I couldn’t believe it. I’m glad they’re not skipping ahead in time. I want to see how Dexter, the father of three children (Rita’s 2, his One) and Dexter, The Serial Killer, clash, while Dexter, The Grieving husband, well grieves.
I’m gonna be pissed if this season is dealing with emotions more than killing.
