White Collar Creator Teases Season Finale

By: Stephanie Sigafoos

USA Network’s White Collar, arguably the breakout cable hit of the season, wraps March 9 at 10pm EST with “Out of the Box.” I had a chance to chat with the show’s creator and executive producer
Jeff Eastin on Friday, and he hinted at a finale that will leave fans stunned.

Eastin talked at length about Peter’s willingness to skirt the law and traverse some grey areas with Neal, most notably in “Vital Signs” and last week’s “Bottlenecked.” When I asked if these type of moves will come back to haunt the G-Man, Eastin confirmed they would. “Something happens in the season finale that will shake Peter’s unwavering belief in the system and the bureau,” Eastin explained. He also noted that while this won’t completely change the core of the character, we will see Peter more willing to “bend the rules” as the show moves into its second season this summer.

Another exciting bit of information Eastin revealed is that we’ll finally meet some of Mozzie’s connections to the underground world — and we’ll also learn exactly why Mozzie is called Mozzie. Eastin also described Mozzie as “one of the most fun characters,” and added that Willie Garson brings a “certain special spark to that particular scene.”
