NBC Confirms Jay Leno Will Be Returning To The Tonight Show at 11:35 pm ET (Updated)

TMZ is reporting that Jay Leno and NBC have reached a new deal.

The new deal gives Jay Leno the full hour, starting at 11:35 pm ET.

As reported here earlier this week, Conan O’Brien announced that if this would happen, he would walk.

A new deal had to be done with Leno because the move would of been a breach of his contract, that guaranteed him the 10 pm ET timeslot.

Now with Jay Leno back on The Tonight Show, it looks like Conan O’Brien will have no place on the NBC schedule.

Update:

NBC is denying the report.

“It’s not true, nothing has happened, there’s no movement. Right now, nothing is in the works.”

Stay tuned for all the latest as it happens. Trust me, I’m as confused as you all are.

Update #2:

An NBC source has confirmed that Jay Leno is signed to return to The Tonight Show barring any miraculous last minute deal in which Conan O’Brien agrees to move to 12:05 a.m.

Imagine the outrage from Leno and his crew if Carson had stayed on at NBC after leaving the tonight show, then pulled this on him.
