Report: Simon Cowell to Leave American Idol in 2010

According to a report from Britain’s “The Sun”, American Idol judge Simon Cowell has decided to quit the reality-series when his contract ends in 2010.

Cowell has been with the show since its first season in 2003.

Idol is no stranger to shuffling the judges table. Last season, Kara DioGuardi was added as the fourth judge. Over the summer, it was announced that Paula Abdul would be leaving, and would be replaced by Ellen DeGeneres.

Season 9 of American Idol is set to premiere on FOX in January of 2010.
