Nod of the Head, Shake of the Fist – The Eric Dane / Rebecca Gayheart “Nude Tape” Story
One of the biggest stories of the week in the Entertainment was the release of a “nude video” which featured Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane, his wife Rebecca Gayheart, and a third woman.
Now a story like this has gotten a lot of in-depth coverage and analysis. And rightfully so, I mead, it’s nudity…and celebrities! It ranks right up there with celebrity rehab, celebrity arrests, and celebrity freak-outs. Exciting stuff folks!
So I’ve decided to bring out the big guns and unleash my fury of judgment with another edition of “Nod of the Head, Shake of the Fist”.
(Disclaimer: For the record this writer denies any similarities between this segment, and the one from a certain late night Report host. A wag of my finger goes to those who don’t buy it!)
Now for those who have been in the dark about this story, here it is.
An edited version of a video was released online early this week. The video featured Eric Dane, his wife Rebecca Gayheart and a third woman. In the video, they are all three nude. We see the trio, visibly intoxicated (or more), in bed passing the camera around, giving each other porn names. We also see the two women together playing around in a bubble bath in another scene.
Now first off, a nod of the head to Eric Dane. He’s known as “McSteamy” on Grey’s Anatomy, but now he should be known as McPimp! Not only he’s on video with his wife, but also a second woman. If that wasn’t enough, the second woman is Former Miss Teen USA Kari Ann Peniche, who lost her title after posing for Playboy. So he’s on tape, with his actress wife, and 25 year old Beauty Queen Playboy Playmate. Yes, Bravo McPimp!
Moving on, a shake of the fist goes to Grey’s Anatomy. If there’s a show that didn’t need any more distractions, or backstage controversies, it’s Grey’s! There was the Isaiah Washington thing, then Katherine Heigl bad-mouthing the writers, then there was the sudden unexplained dismissal of Brooke Smith, and the T.R. Knight’s messy departure, now we can add Eric Dane. This show could have a drama about the real life drama of its cast. Of course, it would be on HBO, or another cable network, but I think it would sell.
You know what? I change my mind! A nod of the head goes to Grey’s Anatomy. Either it’s their fault or not, they have been getting a lot of free publicity. Controversy sells.
Finally, I’ll give a nod of the head to the LAPD.
In a statement released this week, it was said that the LAPD received a copy of Dane’s tape last month, prompting an investigation into the trios activities. Now these brave souls have been looking at this video, over and over again, studying every minute, investigating for illegal activities.
Hey, looking at celebrity videos isn’t an easy job, and the LAPD is not afraid to get their hand dirty. I mean, I’m no police officer, but watching the clip one time (for research purposes I swear!), the word “cocaine” and the scene of strung out people ran a few bells. But I’ll leave it to the professionals. Keep on the good work LAPD.
