Eminem/"Bruno" Face-Off, The Story Behind the Gag

The MTV Movie Awards are known for delivering memorable moments, and last night didn’t disappoint.

Was it staged, or was it real? That was the question on everyone’s mind after the incident between Eminem and “Bruno” (played by Sasha Baron Cohen).

During the live event, “Bruno” decended from the rafters and was lowered over Eminem. Armed with only a thong and wings, Bruno landed bare-assed first into Eminem’s face.

The rapper didn’t look too impressed with his fascial surprise. After lots of swearing, his entourage swatted Bruno off of Eminem. An unimpressed Eminem looked pissed and stormed off.

Again, was he in on it?

According to E! News, the rapper was aware that Bruno would be falling over him. But he was not aware of his wardrobe choice, and his…positioning.

Eminem reportedly stayed in his trailer until the show was done.

    this shit was so staged!! As bruno was coming out of the air his legs were positioned so that he would fall into em’s lap. Plus, no one in the audience was shocked. They laughed, like they KNEW it was coming. Em’s career has been falling off so this is his way of attracting publicity to his already shitty album, just as Cassie shaved her half her head, Christina Milan dyed her hair that horrendous color, and Chris Brown and Rihanna got into a “domestic” squabble.     Skychica, Eminem is and has always been the number one rapper in the world. Mathers would never take that shit, even for publicity, even for a show. Remember, this is they guy who didn’t go to the Academy Awards to accept the “BEST SONG OF THE YEAR”. Eminem doesn’t give a shit what anyone thinks of him, and this was a low attempt at humor.

    MTV stopped having any credibility around 1992 with the sudden changes they made to their format from “Music Television” to “Crap reality TV and game shows”.

    You could tell Eminem knew Bruno was coming down on him, but his facial expressions said it all when he saw what Bruno was wearing. It would be extremely embarassing for it to happen to a rapper, but if your going to agree to something by Sasha Baron Cohen then you had better be prepared to be surprised. Eminem should have expected something rediculous.

    haha both of you are lunchin. eminem is no where close to being a good rapper anymore, hearing his new songs i feel like his target audience is 12 yr olds. going after crappy celebs repeatedly and not being funny anymore doesnt make you a good rapper. he has no soul in his music left, and he doesnt rap from the heart. eminem has lost all his swagger, he was, once, the best rapper alive but now he is no longer in the top 5. i hope he retires or tries to come up with something original because his last few albums have sucked balls, after the eminem show he really went down the gutter….he prolly stopped chiefin lol
