Ratings Report: "Britain's Got Talent" Shocking Finale Scores Big Ratings

It aired in the U.K., but people from around the world were keeping an eye on the results of Saturday night’s “Britain’s Got Talent” finale.

An average 17.3 million viewers watched (on ITV1) as singing sensation Susan Boyle lost to the dance group “Diversity”.

Diversity shocked the world, beating out the the favourite who gained famed all over the world.

Susan Boyle became a Youtube celebrity for her performance on the Britain talent show.

If you compare those ratings to the finale of American Idol, where Adam Lambert was the huge favourite to win, you see a big different. Idol raked in over 11 million viewers in the U.S. during its finale that saw Kris Allen be crowned the champion.

The American version of “Talent” returns to NBC on June 23rd.
