Today might be NBC’s turn to reveal their schedule during their upfront event, however FOX has taken part of the spotlight. Today the network has announced the renewal of its top-rated new show Fringe.

The sci-fi hit, created by J.J. Abrams, has been #1 in its Tuesday night timeslot in the key demographic of 18-49 years old.

Fringe proved to be a notable addition to our schedule all season and it really has fans buzzing as it builds to a fantastic season finale,” said Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly announcing the pickup. “J.J. and the whole Bad Robot team have been phenomenal partners, and we look forward to years of making great television with them.”

The first season of Fringe will be wrapping up on May 12th. Former Star-Trek star Leonard Nimoy joins the cast.

FOX will be unveiling their fall schedule during their upfront event on May 18th.

Fringe is a must see show. It’s a mix between House and X-Files.
I think Anna Torv and the rest of the cast are just terrific.

Here’s My view on Anna Torv-below

Finally, an intelligent TV show that has been renewed: smart scripts, complementary cast and a unique premise all wrapped in a well paced TV hour. Well done Fox.
